Khatanga Airport is the airport of the village of Khatanga in the Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, located at a distance of five hundred meters from the edge of the settlement and two kilometers from its center. The federal airfield is located on the banks of the river of the same name and is the largest airport in the Arctic. The airport has a civil status and was previously a backup option for all flights to Norilsk. In addition, the airport is used by polar aviation. Khatanga Airport is open around the clock and at any time of the year.
At the end of 2009, the airport's runway was reconstructed. Currently, the airfield complex is capable of receiving aircraft weighing up to 170 tons, including Il-76, Tu-154, Tu-134, as well as all aircraft of a lower class.
Taxiing of IL-76 aircraft should be performed according to RD B is powered by two engines in the "low" mode.
